The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that because of supply-chain problems Pfizer expects to ship half of the COVID-19 vaccines it originally had planned. The Journal reported some early batches of the raw materials used to make the vaccine failed to meet standards, so they’re shipping 50 million doses instead of 100 million.
COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got 5 in the hospital being examined, another 56 there have been confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 1,828 active cases. The state says since the crisis began, we’ve had a total of 22,221 reported cases, 173 more than Thursday, and the number of deaths in the county since the pandemic began is now at 707.
