The calls for the governor to leave Albany are getting louder. Late Sunday afternoon Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins called on the governor to step down. The vote went along party lines, with Republicans concerned the legislation didn’t go far enough. The bill revokes the Governor’s authority to issue new directives but allows those currently on the books to be enforced but with greater legislative oversight. The governor was expected to sign the bill yesterday.
