After a parade through the Canyon of Heroes in Manhattan later this morning and then a visit to the Senate in Washington, the World Cup Champion U.S. Women’s soccer team is looking to advance in yet another way – in equal pay to their male counterparts. A Virginia senator yesterday introduced a bill that would prevent the federal government from funding the 2026 FIFA World Cup until the U-S Soccer Federation agrees to equal pay for its men’s and women’s national teams. Today’s parade starts at 9:30 and works its way north from Battery Park along Broadway to City Hall.
