One was killed and several others were injured following an accident on Route 6 late Monday night in Woodbury in Orange County. State Police say 24 year-old Chiam Gordon of Spring Valley was traveling east when he tried to pass a Cadillac that was carrying New Square’s spiritual leader, 81 year-old Grand Rabbi David Twersky. Police say Gordon crossed over the double-yellow line and struck a westbound Nissan X-Terra. Gordon’s car then swerved back and hit the car he was trying to pass. The driver of the Nissan was declared dead at the scene. Two passengers in Gordon’s car were taken to Nyack Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Two others were brought to Westchester Medical Center, they were treated and released. None of the occupants of the Cadillac, including Rabbi Twersky, was injured. The investigation is ongoing and police say charges are expected.
