An Orange County man was acquitted yesterday in the 2013 shooting death of a Ramapo rape suspect. LoHud.com says 48 year-old David Carlson of Sparrow Bush was acquitted of manslaughter by the judge. He had been convicted of manslaughter by a jury in the killing of 35 year-old Norris Acosta-Sanchez in 2016, but he posted bail and the conviction was reversed on appeal. Carlson had claimed he shot Acosta-Sanchez in self-defense as he was turning him over to police for the Ramapo case.
