An Orange County man is accused of crashing his park ranger vehicle while on duty at a Rockland County Independence Day gathering, while drunk, and with his young children in the vehicle with him. DailyVoice.com says 41 year-old Christopher Granata of New Windsor was working at the Haverstraw Bay County Park fireworks celebration July 5th when he lost control of the county John Deere “Gator” utility vehicle while his 1 and 7 year-old daughters were in the front passenger seat. He reportedly struck a parked car, all three were ejected and suffered injuries for which they were treated at the Westchester Medical Center. Results from blood tests were reportedly received last week, and Granata was charged with several DWI and other charges. He was released on his own recognizance for a future court date.
