Another Hudson Valley hotel could be next to get migrants that the city of New York can’t handle themselves. The city of Yonkers is the latest to be considered for migrants to be shipped upstate from the city, perhaps as early as yesterday, though as of this morning they hadn’t arrived yet. That’s according to News 12. They still hadn’t been sent to Orangeburg, though legal action by the county might have prompted the city to abandon those plans. Rockland Business Association CEO Al Samuels also told “The Morning Show” Friday, Mayor Adams is not to be trusted…
Meanwhile, the Armoni Inn and Suites in Orangeburg was forced to close late last week after their permit to operate expired. In Orange County, the New York Post reported 20 veterans were being kicked out of three hotels to make room for migrants from the city, including the Crossroads Hotel in Newburgh, and in Middletown, the Super 8 and Hampton Inn & Suites. News 12 reported two couples’ wedding guests’ reservations at Crossroads were cancelled just days before their weddings, also to free up space for migrants. Orange County reportedly filed lawsuits Friday to keep the hotels from accepting migrants and to prevent the city from setting up homeless shelters in the county. The New York Post said at least 75 migrants will be staying temporarily in a public school gym in Coney Island. Late last week three Hudson Valley congressmen called for President Joe Biden to declare a state of emergency due to the situation. Representatives Mike Lawler, Pat Ryan, and Marc Molinaro also asked FEMA to step in and provide assistance.
