The NYPD has arrested a man in connection with an accident Sunday that killed a Nanuet teen. News 12 says 23 year-old Enrique Lopez was driving when he slammed into a parked oil tanker truck near Bryant Avenue in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx and struck a building, killing 15-year-old Sabrina Villa-Gomez-Gonzalez and 21-year-old Gilvante Roberson of Brooklyn. Lopez is being charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and other charges. 17-year-old Aaliyah Torres is still hospitalized in critical condition. Sabrina’s funeral is being held today at 10am at St. Joseph’s Church in Spring Valley.
Orangeburg Man Charged with Arson in Bergen County
An Orangeburg man was arrested this week and accused of setting two fires near Bergen County shopping centers. Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella told DailyVoice.com that 37 year-old Nicholas Todaro reportedly set one fire in a wooded area behind the Spring Street shopping center off Route 17 on January 5th. That same day, he reportedly set another fire in a wooded area behind near the Interstate Shopping Center about a mile away. Ramsey firefighters put out the blazes. Todaro was arrested Wednesday, charged with arson and aggravated arson, and sent to the Bergen County Jail, pending an appearance in a Hackensack Court.
