The Broadacres nine-hole golf course is not going to be in the Orangetown supervisor’s proposed budget for next year. Chris Day, who is not running for re-election, says it was a tough choice to make but he thinks it’ll be better for the town in the long run…
Day says he was looking at cuts that wouldn’t impact the town’s essential services. Day said Broadacres loses up to $200,000 each year, and the town already has what he calls a world-class 27-hole golf course at Blue Hill.
