Day three of the “Five Towns of Rockland Blood Drive Challenge” was held yesterday in Stony Point, leaving two towns to go. The friendly competition is designed to increase the dwindling local blood supply and register more people to be regular blood donors. So far Orangetown is in the lead with 27 units of blood donated and 16 first-time donors. On the first day of the competition, Ramapo secured 18 units and engaged 11 first-time donors. Clarkstown residents can donate today at town hall from noon to 5pm, and Haverstraw’s donation day is tomorrow from 10 to 3pm at their town hall.
