A national home builder is looking to build 38 two-bedroom townhomes for those 55 and
older on a vacant 10-acre parcel on Gatto Lane in Pearl River. The area straddles the border
near Chestnut Ridge. But nearby residents say it’s already too dense and the roads too
narrow to handle it. Locals came out to an Orangetown town board meeting earlier this
month to voice their objections…
Toll Brothers spokesperson, attorney Brian Quinn said the project would include a buffer
between it and area’s existing homes…
Orangetown supervisor Teresa Kenny says the project’s been in the works for almost two
years, and it would be a welcome addition to the town…
A zone change would be required to accommodate the project. The issue is expected to
come up again at another town board meeting near the end of August.
