[UPDATE] Haverstraw Police have identified a suspect in Monday afternoon’s fatal shooting.
[EARLIER] Haverstraw Police are investigating a fatal shooting of a Pomona man near West Street and Fairmount Avenue. Police say 29 year-old Christian Alvarado had crashed his car into a parked car near 9 Fairmount Avenue, he was found on the sidewalk with multiple bullet wounds to his torso. He was treated at the scene and later was pronounced dead at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. One suspect is reportedly being sought in connection with the incident, which took place around four in the afternoon. There were four homicides in the county all of last year.
