The Rockland County Health Department is warning of a possible measles
exposure in Spring Valley. Anyone who visited "Pharmacy Plus" on North
Main Street on Tuesday, May 28th, from 1 to 4 in the afternoon may have
been exposed. The county also recently told summer camps they have to make
sure staff and campers have had their measles vaccinations before the
season begins. Rockland State Senator David Carlucci has introduced a bill
to bring a similar policy state-wide…
Rockland County Executive Ed Day says he’s concerned the bill may not pass…
If the bill is passed and signed it wouldn’t take effect until October, so it would be in place for next year’s summer camp season. Free MMR vaccines are available at the Rockland County Department of Health, Building A in Pomona this afternoon from 4 to 6pm and other days throughout the rest of the month. There’s no appointment necessary. Of the more than 800 cases in New York, 259 of them are in Rockland.
