Public officials from Rockland and Orange County, and a few local celebrities, will be racing for a great cause tonight in West Nyack. Autobahn Raceway in the Palisades Center will be hosting the event, which will raise money for the Penguin Plunge, benefiting four kids in our area with serious health issues and massive medical bills. Barbara Noyes is the head of the group and says there are lots of ways you can help…
Rockland County Sheriff Lou Falco will be racing too, and keeping an eye out for traffic violations, and making sure it’s all good, clean fun…
Rockland County Executive Ed Day, a Republican, says he’s hoping to eclipse the $10,000 they raised in last year’s race, and he even felt compelled to bring in a Democrat to get involved as well…
In addition to Rockland Legislature Chairman Jay Hood, other racers in tonight’s event include, Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus, Orange County Sheriff Paul Areta, actor-director Paul Borghese, and WRCR’s own Jeff Lewis. There will also be pro racers from Orange County Fair Speedway. It’s happening tonight at 7pm at the Autobahn Indoor Speedway at Palisades Center in West Nyack.
