The town of Ramapo marked the one-year anniversary yesterday of the Hanukkah attack in which one died and four others were injured. In a post on Twitter, supervisor Michael Specht called it a “heinous, horrific and hateful attack” that proves “Antisemitism is regrettably alive and well.”
72 year-old Rabbi Josef Neumann died months after the attack. 37 year-old Grafton Thomas of Greenwood Lake was diagnosed earlier this month as a schizophrenic and found unfit to stand trial. The U.S. Attorney’s office wants to know if more treatment will improve his condition. His lawyers want him sent to a psychiatric facility.
