Ramapo officials met with members of the Rockland Illegal Housing Task
Force this week to figure out how to bring tensions in town under control.
The meeting was spawned by last week’s New York State Senate Code
Enforcement hearings in Newburgh and fiery appearances by the county
executive and Ramapo’s supervisor Friday on "The Morning Show." Justin
Schwartz of the Illegal Housing Task Force says the meeting was
productive, but they’re being tight-lipped about what they've accomplished
thus far…
In addition to Ramapo, North Rockland state senator James Skoufis and the Committee on Investigations and Government Operations are looking into housing conditions and code enforcement in Mount Vernon, Newburgh and Albany.
