The next stop for a controversial high-density housing development in Ramapo that’s been approved by the Zoning Board of Appeals is the Planning Board. The Bluefield Extension would include 15 to 20 units on about an acre off Union Road, across the street from the Bluefield complex of multiple family townhouses. Ramapo supervisor Michael Specht told “The Morning Show” Friday he has no opinion of the project one way or the other…
The project’s been in the works for more than five years. The local CUPON activist group is considering taking legal action against the project. Meanwhile, Ramapo will be taking down two of the 17 homes left in the Hamlets of Ramapo, just off Torne Brook Road and Torne Valley Road. That’s according to the Journal News. The town owns the property but has been looking to sell it or maintain it as parkland.
