Ramapo’s property tax assessor has retired, ending a decades-long career. That’s according to The Journal News. Scott Shedler served in the town of Ramapo, with a brief turn in the same role in the town of Clarkstown, only to return after former Ramapo supervisor Chris St. Lawrence’s conviction on federal corruption charges in 2017. A member of the executive board of the New York State Assessors Association, Shedler once received state recognition for developing a program that helped residents check their assessments. Shedler will continue to work as a consultant.
