New York’s Division of Building Standards and Codes reportedly reviewed the status of the Village of Airmont’s code enforcement program following complaints by area residents that the government has been lax in its fire and building code enforcement. That’s according to The Journal News. Airmont’s been at the center of several legal actions around its code enforcement since the village formed 32 years ago. An attorney for the village told the Journal News the state did not raise any concerns or indicate that any further review was necessary. Two homes on Fosse Court have been targeted by neighbors as possibly operating as a boys’ school and dormitory without permits, but the village said they saw no evidence of that.
