The former Deputy Mayor of the village of Haverstraw has reportedly filed a multi-million dollar federal civil rights lawsuit claiming investigators from the District Attorney’s Office injured her while using excessive force when they arrested her. That’s according to The Journal News. Emily Dominguez and her sister have pleaded guilty to one felony count of fourth-degree grand larceny covering the theft of property up to $3,000. While in court on that case, Dominguez was arrested on other charges involving allegations of election law violations, during which she claims she suffered the injuries. Dominguez and her sister, Janice, face sentencing on January 18th.
