Less than a year on the job and the head of a local college has already been let go. That’s according to Patch.com, which reported yesterday afternoon that Rockland Community College’s new president, Dr. Lester Edgardo Sandres Rápalo, was fired after just 11 months. RCC has been wrestling with financial issues, layoffs and various cost-cutting measures implemented after an $8 million shortfall was discovered. A spokesperson for RCC told WRCR yesterday the college would issue a statement in the next 24 to 48 hours.
