A perceived inappropriate response to a Facebook post about the second attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump has landed an area school board member in hot water and could cost her her job. That’s according to News 12. Some parents in the South Orangetown Central School District want board member Dawn Kitz to resign over her laughing emoji reaction to the post, but she claimed in a board meeting last week her intention was misconstrued, noting she’s never condoned violence. School District Superintendent Brian Culat said the incident does not reflect the board’s or the district’s position and it is being reviewed. The next Board of Education meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday, October 1st at 7:30PM in the South Orangetown Middle School Library in Blauvelt.
