Meanwhile, the governor is already planning to crack down on congestion pricing toll evaders. As part of her $233 billion state budget plan, The New York Post says Governor Kathy Hochul proposed targeting scammers who evade paying tolls with “Class E” or “D” felonies. The governor also wants to issue fines up to $500 on drivers who prevent plate readers from seeing their license plates to avoid paying tolls.
