New restrictions on various COVID cluster zones around the state, including Rockland and Orange Counties, go into effect at 12:01am tonight. Rockland County Executive Ed Day says they’re waiting for additional instructions from the New York State Police Task Force which will oversee enforcement of the restrictions in these zones. Click here to check the state’s “Cluster Zone Map” if you want to see if you’re in the zone.
Meanwhile, Day reminds everyone to maintain social distance, wear a mask, wash your hands, and stay home if you are sick.
COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got four in the hospital being examined, another 18 have been confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 1,500 active cases. The state says since the crisis began, we’ve had a total of 16,256 reported cases, 66 more than Wednesday (16,190), and the Rockland Health Department says we have 679 total fatalities.
