Meanwhile, former Congressman Mondaire Jones, who is running against Lawler this November, says while he tries to paint him as anti-cop, it’s Lawler who has failed to back the blue. In a statement, Jones criticized Lawler for supporting former president Donald Trump, who Jones noted is a convicted felon who incited the January 6th insurrection, during which a Capitol Police officer died, and others were injured, and whose attackers Trump has promised to pardon.
