American flights to Haiti have been stopped for a month after a Spirit Airlines plane was shot at by gangs while attempting to land in Port-Au-Prince, the nation’s capital, earlier this week. The Associated Press reports the U-N has also suspended flights, limiting much-needed humanitarian aid from getting into the country. AP reports JetBlue and American Airlines flights had also been shot at while departing the airport in the Haitian capital, which will remain closed until November 18th.
