Rockland County is warning residents not to fall for summertime scams, the ones that usually prey on those who can’t say no to what seems to be a great deal, only to end up costing more in the end. One local family, the county says, is out $90,000 after hiring a contractor to renovate their yard while the family was away on vacation — but never did the work and has since disappeared.
