The Rockland County Health Department is encouraging unvaccinated residents that are at least six months old to go to Monsey tomorrow for a free MMR vaccine. The free shot is available Friday from 1 to 3 pm at the Monsey WIC office at 23 Robert Pitt Drive. Earlier this week the county executive said though the state of emergency was lifted by a judge, residents should get the vaccine, and schools that don’t meet minimum requirements for vaccination rates could face fines. Meanwhile, eight measles cases have now been confirmed in Westchester. The cases reportedly involve children under 14 years old who do not attend public school or daycare. And News 12 reports Orange County’s Health Department says a measles-infected shopper visited the Nike Factory Store and Sayki Men’s Fashion Store at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets on March 31st. As of yesterday, there were 173 confirmed reported cases of measles in Rockland. Again, free MMR shots will be available tomorrow from 1 to 3 pm at the Monsey WIC office at 23 Robert Pitt Drive in Monsey.
