COVID numbers continue to rise here in Rockland, though the hospitalization numbers are a fraction of what they were last year. Four more have died since Monday, the total is now 1,010, the active case count has jumped more than 400 to 2,523, and we have 39 hospitalized with confirmed COVID cases. The Rockland Sheriff’s department has been hit with COVID, with around five officers afflicted with coronavirus, though inmates and employees in the jail facility itself have been COVID-free. State senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick, state senator James Skoufis, and state assemblyman Ken Zebrowski have joined the county executive in asking the state to re-open the Anthony Wayne Recreation Center as a testing site. At her daily COVID briefing yesterday, Governor Kathy Hochul said she is considering re-opening the site, but the decision hasn’t been made yet…
