The Rockland County legislature is poised to vote next month on potentially having the county handle building and fire inspection duties for the village of Spring Valley. The county executive, meanwhile, says this would only happen if the village doesn’t prove to the state that they can do it on their own. The state has given the county the green light to start the process of temporarily handling those responsibilities for the village.
