The Rockland County Department of Health opened registration for a new batch of COVID-19 vaccine for Phase 1b essential workers, including police, firefighters, teachers, college professors, and grocery store workers. The 700 doses of the Moderna vaccine were expected to be snapped up pretty quickly.

Johnson & Johnson has asked the FDA for an emergency use authorization of its COVID-19 vaccine Thursday, aiming to join Pfizer’s and Moderna’s which are already being distributed. The FDA’s Vaccines Advisory Committee is meeting February 26th. The single-shot vaccine has been shown to be 66% effective in preventing moderate and severe disease.
