The Rockland County Department of Health is warning of a possible COVID-19 exposure recently at a New City Church. A person who tested positive attended three Spanish-language masses at Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship Church on New Hempstead Road. The person was there Friday September 18th from 7:30 to 9:00 PM, Sunday the 20th from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, and Wednesday, the 23rd from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Three more Rockland School districts have reported COVID exposures since Tappan Zee High School was closed Thursday and Friday last week after an exposure there. In Nanuet, a person at A. MacArthur Barr Middle School, and another at George Miller Elementary reportedly tested positive last week. A Fieldstone Middle School student in North Rockland was reportedly exposed to the virus, and in Pearl River a person at Evans Park Elementary also reportedly tested positive.
COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we’ve got one in the hospital being examined, another 12have been confirmed with coronavirus, and a total of 534 active cases. The state says since the crisis began, we’ve had a total of 15,045 reported cases, 47 more than Friday, and the Rockland Health Department says we have 675 total fatalities, unchanged since September 9th.
