Rockland has issued a new emergency order to handle New York City’s policy of sending migrants outside of its borders, particularly to the Hudson Valley. Rockland County Executive Ed Day says the new emergency order prevents municipalities from setting up shelters in Rockland and keeps them from forcing the county to follow their rules and bear their costs. Day told “The Morning Show” Friday mayor Eric Adams’ attempts to take over places outside the city’s jurisdiction will not be tolerated…
The city’s inability to handle their migrant situation began early last month when it was revealed they would be sending about 340 migrants to be housed at the Armoni Inn & Suites in Orangeburg. Both the county and the town of Orangetown objected to the move and have been battling in court since then.
