Meanwhile, U.S. stock markets did well yesterday, largely unaffected by the announcement Sunday that president Joe Biden would be bowing out of the race. Whether that affects markets at all remains to be seen. Yesterday, Harris secured the endorsement of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who took herself out of the conversation for V-P. House Speaker Republican Mike Johnson suggested legal action could be in the works, claiming Biden was chosen by the people in the primary, though because the convention hasn’t been held yet, he still wasn’t the official candidate for president, when he stepped aside.
