We’re closing in on the governor’s 70 percent threshold for most COVID restrictions to be lifted completely. Around 69.7 percent of all New Yorkers have gotten at least one shot, though Rockland does lag in that category, with only 49 percent of the county’s total population now vaccinated. However, Day says active COVID cases have steadily declined since mid-March.
