Rockland County is looking to acquire and protect more open space for several important properties, including area wetlands, historic sites and Hudson River access points. The Great Recession put a damper on the county’s open space purchasing abilities. Among the areas saved through the program include Haverstraw Bay County Park, Clausland Mountain in Orangetown, Erickson Farm in Ramapo, the Stony Point Marsh and Cropsey Farm in Clarkstown.
