A Nyack cannabis dispensary could be the first in Rockland to start selling weed to area customers, but it’ll be doing it door-to-door for now, with a grand opening anticipated in the spring. Tina Traster is the editor of the Rockland County Business Journal online, and says Treehouse Cannabis, located on Route 59 in Nyack, will be the first pot retailer out of the gate, followed by two more, another in Nyack and one in Piermont…
Other Rockland areas that could get marijuana dispensaries in the future include the town of Haverstraw, and the villages of Haverstraw, Airmont, Chestnut Ridge, Hillburn, Montebello, Spring Valley, Upper Nyack and Wesley Hills. Various legal challenges have stalled the opening of many locations in the state. An Onondaga County company called Valencia Ag, filed the anti-discrimination lawsuit in federal court, claiming state laws and regulators unjustly favored non-white races when handing out cannabis business licenses.
