A booster dose of the Pfizer COVID vaccine is now available to certain populations that have already received their first two shots of the Pfizer vaccine. The Rockland County Department of Health will begin giving out 3rd doses of the vaccine beginning today at 3pm. For those who have yet to get any shots, Rockland County Executive Ed Day says the data shows, they are doing their job…
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that certain people should get a booster dose six months after getting their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. A booster dose is not yet available for those who got the Moderna or Johnson and Johnson shots. The CDC recommends you should get the Pfizer booster shot if you are 65 and older, 18 and older and are in a long-term care setting, and those age 50–64 with certain underlying medical conditions. Again, this is only if you have had Pfizer already and got the second shot at least six months ago. To make an appointment at the RCDOH, click here.
