With heavy snow and high winds predicted for later this afternoon into Thursday, the Rockland County highway department has already begun pre-treating roads with anti-icing brine. Highway Superintendent Skip Vezzetti says his crews have been practicing their routes once a week since early November to ensure they’re familiar with the nooks and crannies of every street. With high winds expected to accompany the storm, O&R overhead line and tree removal crews, and other teams, are prepared for a high-volume outage response.
