Rockland residents are concerned about escalating energy bills this winter, that’s an issue many have called their new state senator to ask him about. O&R does have “Payment Assistance” plans and “Bill Relief” options, the latter for those who get benefits from certain government programs who may also qualify for discounts on their monthly energy bills. The company also offers tips for energy efficiency upgrades and other cost-saving strategies. They suggest keeping thermostats set to the lowest comfortable temperature, making sure heating vents aren’t blocked, insulating hot-water pipes and warm-air ducts, and replacing conventional light bulbs with more efficient LED bulbs.
