Clarkstown Central School District:
The school budget for the 2023-24 school year was approved with 78.03% of the vote:
2366 – YES; 666 – NO
Proposition 2: Capital Reserve Fund Expenditure passed with 83.04% of the vote: 2493 voted to approve and 509 voted against it.
David Gosman and Zizette Deutsch were re-elected to the Board of Education, beginning their next three year terms on July 1.
East Ramapo Central School District:
2023-24 Budget: “No” Votes: 1,896; “Yes” Votes: 1,851
Board Member election results are as follows:
- Sherry McGill was re-elected to a 3-year term as a Trustee in Ward 3 with 424 votes, to 116 votes for Christopher Poole, to begin July 1, 2023.
- Simon Koth was re-elected to a 3-year, 1-and-a-half month term as a Trustee in Ward 5 to begin May 17, 2023.
- Moshe Samuel Feder was elected to a 3-year term as a Trustee in Ward 8 to begin July 1, 2023.
The Nyack Public Schools 2023-24 budget was approved with 1834 ‘yes’ votes, or 84.8% of the tentative vote results.
Approximately, 87% of voters or 1828 ‘yes’ votes were cast in favor of Proposition 2, which allows the District to use Capital Reserve Funds from 2010 and 2015 to fund the replacement of boilers, installation of air conditioning, and related electrical system upgrades as well as to increase the ultimate amount of the capital reserve.
Jessica Goodman, Jennifer Marraccino and Benny Vazquez have been elected to the Board of Education. These seats carry a three-year term which will begin on July 1, 2023, and concludes June 30, 2026.
