Rockland County is holding a Solar Eclipse Viewing event at Haverstraw Bay Park next Monday. Rockland County Executive Ed Day says weather-permitting, park staff will be on hand to answer questions about this unique event…
A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the sun and the earth, obscuring the view of the sun. Monday’s total solar eclipse will cross North America, and New York is one of the states within the eclipse’s path, reaching totality at approximately 3:15 pm. The viewing event is being held, weather permitting, from 2:30 – 4pm on Monday, April 8th, at Haverstraw Bay Park at 21 Gagan Road in Haverstraw. Special eclipse-viewing glasses will be provided for free to those who need them. If you go, make sure you bring chairs and maybe a blanket to comfortably view the eclipse.
