The county is giving out free rabies shots for your pets on Sunday. They’re available from 10 AM until 1 PM at the Fire Training Center in Pomona next to the Boulders’ ballpark. No appointment is necessary. The shots are free, but they ask for a $5 donation per animal to help defray the county’s costs. The shots are for dogs, cats or ferrets – they must be healthy, and at least three months old. Pet owners can be fined up to $250 if they fail to get their pets vaccinated and keep them up to date. For more information call the Department of Health at 845-364-2594.
