Rockland’s Congressman was out blasting the governor last week, but not here in the county or the Hudson Valley. He was outside of Buffalo, some 370 miles away, at the former site of a manufacturing facility, Japanese rubber manufacturer Sumitomo, where they made rubber-based products, including car tires, golf balls and tennis balls. Rockland Congressman Mike Lawler of the Hudson Valley’s 17th district, blamed the loss of the plant on, among other things, New York’s burdensome tax policies and overall high cost of doing business…
Though he hasn’t confirmed it, there has been chatter surrounding Congressman Lawler that he’s interested in running for governor in two years. He did tell WGRZ TV in Buffalo that he is seriously considering running for governor, and will decide in the coming months.
