Rockland’s congresswoman has found herself wrapped up in a Twitter war with a controversial new member of Congress, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. She suggested American politicians are forced to “pledge allegiance” to Israel. Congresswoman Nita Lowey has been calling Omar out for her allegiance suggestion as being discriminatory towards Jews, who are sometimes accused of having dual loyalties. Accusations of anti-Semitism have dogged Omar since she was elected to the House last November. “The Hill” reported that the House is expected to vote Wednesday on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism in response to Omar’s comments.
