A heavily-traveled Rockland County overpass is getting some work done using funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Governor Kathy Hochul says Route 304 in Clarkstown over the Thruway will get part of the $17.4 million project. Work is expected to start this summer and last about two years. The overpass will include the installation of a new, fully continuous and jointless bridge deck that will reduce long-term maintenance costs, create a smoother ride and increase the overall life span of the bridge. Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann says the repairs there are way overdue…
Rockland Congressman Mike Lawler of the 17th district says he’s working on getting more from next year’s federal budget…
While the work is being done to Route 304, motorists can expect only one lane going in either direction. Repairs are also being made to Route 52 in Orange County, and Illington Road in Westchester.
