Vaccine appointments scheduled for yesterday and today at multiple state-run sites throughout New York are being postponed due to the weather. Downstate state-run mass vaccination sites at SUNY Stony Brook, Jones Beach, Aqueduct Racetrack, the Javits Center and the Westchester County Center are closed today. Upstate sites in Binghamton, Albany, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Utica, Syracuse and Rochester have a delayed 10AM start. A local lawmaker, meanwhile, is calling for a hearing into the state’s vaccination distribution program. Stony Point and Orange County assemblyman Colin Schmitt called for a joint oversight hearing of the program and he wants the program back in the hands of county systems. The New York Times reported nine members of the State Health Department have resigned after tussling with the governor on how to proceed with the vaccination program.
