The Columbian Fire Engine Company Number One in Spring Valley is calling on Rockland’s District Attorney to resign immediately, following the plea deal given to the two Rabbis who had been charged with starting the fire at the Evergreen Adult Home that killed one of their volunteers over two years ago. In a statement last night, the Columbian’s Officers and Members said they were outraged by D-A Tom Walsh’s decision to offer Rabbis Nathaniel and Aaron Sommer no jail-time, calling it a grave miscarriage of justice and an insult to Jared Lloyd, who died in the blaze. The Sommers are scheduled to be sentenced September 20th.
