State Police in Middletown are looking for eyewitnesses to a fatal accident Saturday morning in the town of Newburgh. State Police say there was a two-car crash around 7:40am on Interstate 84. Their preliminary investigation found a small compact car was rear-ended by an SUV, sending both vehicles off the roadway. The SUV rolled over, and the driver was pronounced dead. The victim, the sole occupant of the SUV, was not identified. No word on any injuries to anyone in the smaller car. State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or observed the vehicles prior to the crash to contact them at 845-344-5300. The investigation is ongoing.
