The town of Stony Point could become home for a unique green project that could take two decades to complete. Supervisor Jim Monaghan says the project by a company called Hudson River Resources would take discarded rock from other projects and fill up the old Tilcon quarry in Tompkins Cove that’s been closed since 2012 and turn it into green space…
This would be the largest project of its kind in the state. Monaghan says it would create about 40 local jobs and since rocks would come up by barge, area roadways wouldn’t be impacted.
